In July 2008, Stella
was invited to the Civic Centre in Enfield, North London, where she was
presented with a certificate and badge in recognition of her community service
with the Nightingale Community Hospice Trust.
The awards are an initiative of the London Borough of
Enfield Council and the Enfield Strategic Partnership, and Stella received hers
from her local MP, Andy Love.
Stella is mainly involved in transporting the clients
between their homes and the Hospice Drop-in sessions, but also spends time
making tea, and helping at various fund-raising events. Earlier in the summer,
Stella opened her home to the clients for an afternoon tea party, and in
November will be holding a Pre-Christmas Tea party to raise more funds.
